Session 1: Impacts of Climate Change on Agriculture

Among the countries in the world mostly affected by extreme weather events in the period from 1996 to 2015, Vietnam is ranked eighth. Climate change is already affecting agriculture, with effects unevenly distributed across the world. Future climate change will likely negatively affect crop production in low latitude countries such as Vietnam. In the SAE Conference, Session 1 will focuss on topics:
- Projection of future climate change scenarios
- Impacts of climate change on Agriculture/Forestry/Fishery
- Impacts of climate change on soil and water resources
- Climate change adaptation and mitigation for agriculture
Session 2: Application of Biotechnology in agriculture for adaptation to climate change

Biotechnology is being employed to handle issues for agricultural development in the climate change scene. This session focuses on tissue culture, genetic engineering, molecular markers, molecular diagnostics, and genomic technologies for developing the new crops to adapt to drought, saline, and temperature increasing or to resistance emerging pests due to climate change. In addition, new bio-products used for protection and promotion the crop plants to overcome the environmental risks are suggested to present in this session.
Session 3: Crops production adaptable to climate change

The Subsection on Crops production adaptable to climate change focuses on plant breeding and propagation, water and crop nutrition management, crop protection adaptable to climate change (especially drought and salinity conditions); the application of high-tech in agricultural production (soilless culture, using LED light, using plant growth regulators, controlling flowering, stimulating resistance, biological control, application of probiotics in crop production, plant factory); agricultural systems (high-tech agriculture, urban agriculture, organic agriculture, natural/permaculture agriculture) and other related fields in the context of climate change.
Session 4: Animal production adaptable to climate change

Session 6: Supply chains in the context of climate change

Vietnam is one of the eight countries in the world most affected by climate change. Climate change seriously affects not only agricultural production but also most actors in the agricultural supply chains. Under the impact of climate change, actors involved in agricultural activities have been facing many potential risks to production plans, crop and livestock productivity, preliminary processing and storage. These will indirectly affect their income as well as livelihood. In the SAE 2020, session 5 focuses on the following topics:
-The economic efficiency of agricultural production models in response to climate change
- Supply chain and value chain of agricultural products adapted to climate change
- Agricultural production contracts.
- Household livelihood in the context of climate change
Session 7: Advances in Animal Health

Advances in animal sciences and veterinary medicine for sustainable purpose: cover all the aspects of veterinary science, animal production and health, including farming and management systems, infectious, non-infectious, zoonotic diseases of livestock, poultry, companion animals, aquaculture and wildlife species and veterinary public health issues.
Session 8: Emerging Technologies in Preventing Landslides and Flash Flood

In Vietnam, landslides and flash floods are major natural disasters that have caused severe damage to people and property in northern mountainous provinces, central, and central highlands of Vietnam. In the SAE 2020, the session 8 covers the research themes in emerging applications and technologies of big data, IoT, B5G networks, and AI with a focus on how these themes can be diffused into the management of disasters such as landslides and flash floods, which are the critical issues affecting social-economic development and well-being in Vietnam mountainous provinces. The topics include (but are not limited to) big data science; IoT system and B5G network architecture; and artificial intelligence in the context of landslides and flash floods.
